We are pleased to announce that we have signed the
formal contract for the Watchet Bowling Club new build
with our principal contractor at the end of November. We
have also instructed on the demolition of the old garages
in order to facilitate the new build.
Demolition will commence this month December 2020
and the new build is scheduled to start at the end of
January 2021.
We are sharing an artist impression of the new building
which will include a new bar, lounges, a kitchen, and a
function room that can cater for 100 people.
We hope to create a great asset for Watchet, and the
function room in particular, will be a truly valuable facility
for our community.
Thanks Ron
New Build - Demolition of the Garages
We have been made aware of noise issues primarily
caused by the doors of the old garages that are
being demolished at the WBC. The area is a
demolition site and as such we are limited in what
can be done, we cannot for example remove the
doors ourselves (indeed even if we could that would
encourage further illegal dumping of rubbish which
we’ve already had to deal with). The workers from
the demolition company, like the rest of us are
currently on Christmas break. That said two of our
members attended on Christmas Eve and wedged
the garage doors to address. The situation has been
exacerbated by Storm Bella and the accompanying
80 mph winds. However once again our members
and a resident are in attendance with the intention
of securing the doors in a better way. We of course
apologise for the inconvenience caused to those
affected and ask for your understanding and
patience whilst this is resolved.
